Get Ready For The Summer’s Biggest Cricket Matches

Manchester AirBNB  = old trafford cricket

Staying in a Manchester AirBNB can be a great way to enjoy sporting events, as you don’t have to be travelling long distances early in the morning or late at night. They are popular with people coming to see Premier League football matches, but they can also be a great way of enjoying the many big cricket matches coming up this summer.

Old Trafford cricket ground is one of the best-known venues in the world, having hosted Lancashire’s county games since the mid-19th century and England games since 1884. It is easy to reach from anywhere in Manchester, because it has a Metrolink Stop right next to the venue.

The biggest highlight of the summer will be the England v India Test match, which takes place from July 23rd to 27th. India’s superstars will be hoping to win a series in England for the first time since 2007, while the home team will hope for a morale-boosting series victory ahead of next winter’s Ashes tour down under.

England’s men will also be in action in an international T20 match against South Africa on September 14th, while there will also be an England v India clash in Women’s cricket, a T20 on July 9th.

Lancashire’s home fixtures at the venue also include some mouth-watering games, with several T20 Blast matches including the big one against Yorkshire on July 11th. Some other fixtures include double headers when both the men’s and women’s teams will be in action for a double treat.

You don’t have to wait until July to see a game, however, as the County Championship runs from April to September. While a typical Division Two Championship match might not normally have any great appeal, this season may be different as, perhaps for the last time, the great James Anderson will be available all season.

The most prolific wicket-taking seamer in Test match history with 704 scalps, he will be running in from the end that bears his name at the age of 42 (43 on July 30th), making even mundane county games into big occasions.
